See you soon Ireland!

It is our last day in Ireland, as sad as that sounds it feels good to know we still have 3 weeks left to adventure through the UK. What I haven’t been mentioning in previous blogs is the terrible whether we have been having, it has rained nearly every day. Luckily, today was beautiful and we got to spend it outside along with other college students.

Today we went to Trinity college and explored what life is like for a typical college student. Our guide (a junior Sociology major) toured us around their beautiful campus describing everything from their tuition per year to the haunted residential stories. Let’s just say, I wouldn’t want to live in a residence hall where a professor was shot…

Michigan State University’s tuition is give or take 26,000 dollars; to most that sounds like a decent price for such a prestigious school. After hearing that tuition at Trinity College is 3,000 Euros a year I think my parents might send me to Ireland to finish college.

While at Trinity College also check out the Book of Kells
To conclude, Im having a blast and it is mostly because of the wonderful people I have met so far. Media typically portrays Irish people as jolly and carefree, and after these past 11 days I can truthfully say this notion is right. The citizens of Ireland have so much respect and appreciation for their tourists which is generally not true all over the world. I’ve been to many countries and let me tell you that is typically not the case. Although it may seem easy to blend in with the Irish people because we have the same native language, don’t let that fool you. I can’t even count how many times we were asked where we were from after saying just one word.

Now its time to pack up for our early morning train/ferry ride to Wales. I hope to see you soon Ireland!
