Ever since I was about seven, I have yearned to visit Ireland. Yesterday at about 9 am, this dream came true.
The group left for the airport at 5:10 am, and after a 2 hour delay our flight landed in Dublin. We got to walk on the landing strip off the plane which was amazing (I felt like a princess), then made our way to pick up our luggage and catch the bus. The bus ride was beautiful, as we got to see our first views of Dublin.
After we dropped off our luggage at the apartment/hotel mix, we began exploring. Troy wanted us to see the main areas of the city, so we got to visit the main shopping strip. Here, we stopped to get breakfast at Soma. I ate some delicious avocado toast with poached eggs, and some Irish potatoes of course.
After some exploration, we were all tired for the long day of traveling and exploring. After a quick nap in the hotel, it was back out for some adventure. We chose the Norseman for dinner, where I got a yummy salmon salad.
Now it was time to bar hop! We visited some Dublin classics including Temple Bar and the Quay. There was a ton of live music and Irish dancing, we all loved it.
This morning, we headed out for the hop-on hop-off bus tour. Our first stop was Kilmainham Gaol jail and museum. This was super rich in history, and kind of eerie. The museum was jam packed with people and so much sadness and emotion. I really enjoyed seeing where years of history happened.
Last stop was Guiness. Here we explored the factory and its history all while learning how to pour the perfect pint.
