Another Sunny Day in Dublin

Another Sunny Day in Dublin-By Courtney Kellogg

We have been so incredibly lucky with our weather over here! Out of our entire trip, we have only had one single day of rain and the rest have been sun and high 60 degree weather! It has made our experience here so much better and enjoyable because we have been able to walk to different places and explore the town.

Today was our third day in Dublin and it has been a day of sightseeing. After grabbing some breakfast, we headed over to the medieval Dublin Castle. We walked into rooms where paintings were displayed on the walls and elegant chandeliers hung. We walked into a dinning room and a beautiful ballroom where guests danced and chatted.

After the castle we headed over to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. With stain glass windows and the sound of a beautiful organ playing, the cathedral definitely made an impression on us.

Trinity College Dublin was our next stop. After waiting in line to buy tickets, we made our way inside to find the Book of Kells which was an old Latin book that consisted of the four Gospels of Christ. Walking up the stairs, we found ourselves in the Trinity College Library. The library was just as magnificent as I had seen from pictures!

We hit lunch, then walked over to the Jameson Distillery.  We got to see how the whiskey was made and learned more about the history of the distillery. The tour ended with a free drink and we headed home to make food for a potluck with our whole group!
